 Why in News

      ○ The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has approached the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take action against political parties for not disclosing the criminal antecedents of their candidates, as mandated by the Supreme Court.
      ○ According to ADR, 43% of the newly-elected MPs in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections had pending criminal cases, highlighting the issue of criminalisation in politics.
