Consider two Statements and a Question:

1. Statement-1: The last day of the month is a Wednesday.
2. Statement-2: The third Saturday of the month was the seventeenth day.
Question: What day is the fourteenth of the given month?
Which one of the following is correct in respect of the Statements and the Question?

1. दो कथनों और एक प्रश्न पर विचार कीजिए :
     कथन-1: किसी माह का अंतिम दिन बुधवार है।
     कथन-2: इस माह का तृतीय शनिवार उसका 17वाँ दिन है।
     प्रश्न : इस माह के 14वें दिन कौन-सा वार है ?
2. कथनों और प्रश्न के संदर्भ में, निम्नलिखित में से कौन-सा सही है ?

Since we do not know which month exactly, we are talking about, statement 1 alone cannot alone answer the question.

But as we know 17th day of the month i.e., Saturday we can easily decide 14th day of the same month i.e. 3rd before Saturday i.e., Wednesday. Thus, statement 2 alone is sufficient.
