● After the grant of Diwani in the year 1765, the British first came in contact with a mountain tribes called Khasi.

● Prior to the Battle of Buxar Shaha Alam granted the East India Company Diwani rights, or the right to collect taxes on behalf of the Emperor from the eastern province of Bengal-Bihar-Orissa.

● These rights allowed the company to collect revenue directly from the people of Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa.

दीवानी अधिकार

● 1765 में दीवानी (Diwani) के अनुदान के बाद, ब्रिटिश पहली बार एक पहाड़ी जनजाति से मिले जिसे खासी (Khasi) कहा जाता है।
