Temperature and Molecular Interaction

The inter-atomic vibrations between molecules or atoms of a material is directly proportional to the temperature.

At a low temperature, the inter-atomic motion and collisions are less and an inter-atomic attractive force dominates and solid state is formed.

With an increase in temperature, the inter-atomic vibrations between the molecules also increases due to which the vibrations increase and molecules get free and start to move around freely.

With an increase in the number of collisions between the molecules there is a decrease in the density of the substance and increase in the volume.

So, a hot and a dry air would be less dense than a cold air. This implies that the cold air would weigh heavier than a hot air.

तापमान और आणविक परस्पर क्रिया

किसी पदार्थ के अणुओं या परमाणुओं के बीच अंतर-परमाणु कंपन (inter-atomic vibrations) तापमान (temperature) के प्रत्यक्ष अनुपाती होते हैं।

कम तापमान पर, अंतर-परमाणु गति और टकराव कम होते हैं और अंतर-परमाणु आकर्षण बल (inter-atomic attractive force) हावी होता है और ठोस अवस्था बनती है।

Temperature and Kinetic Energy

Kinetic energy refers to the amount of ‘work’ which is required to overcome the stationary state of an object and bring it to motion.

Temperature is a physical quantity that describes how hot or cold a substance is.

When the temperature of a gas is increased, there is a corresponding increase in the motion of the molecules. As the speed of the gas molecules increases, more collisions occur, and the total kinetic energy of the gas molecules also increases.

तापमान और गतिज ऊर्जा

गतिज ऊर्जा (Kinetic energy) उस ‘कार्य’ की मात्रा को संदर्भित करती है जो किसी वस्तु की स्थिर अवस्था को पार करने और उसे गति में लाने के लिए आवश्यक होती है।

तापमान (Temperature) एक भौतिक मात्रा है जो किसी पदार्थ के गर्म या ठंडा होने का वर्णन करती है।

जब किसी गैस का तापमान बढ़ता है, तो इसके अणुओं की गति में वृद्धि होती है। जैसे-जैसे गैस के अणुओं की गति बढ़ती है, अधिक टकराव होते हैं, और गैस अणुओं की कुल गतिज ऊर्जा भी बढ़ती है।
