Which one of the following is the correct sequence in the decreasing order of production (in million tonnes) of the given food grains in India?

Production of Crops

As per revised estimates of 2020-21:

Production of rice is 121.46 MT.

Production of wheat is 108.75 MT.

Production of coarse cereals is 49.66 MT.

Production of pulses is 25.58 MT.

Hence, the order will be Rice> Wheat> Coarse Cereal> Pulses.

Coarse Cereals

Coarse grains refer to cereal grains other than wheat and rice or those used primarily for animal feed or brewing.

These grains are warm-season cereals valued for their food, feed and fodder uses in various parts of the world.

Coarse cereals are traditionally grown in resource poor agro-climatic regions of the country.

Coarse cereals include Sorghum, Pearl millet, Ragi, Small millets, Maize and Barley.

The major coarse cereals growing states i.e. Rajasthan (26%), Maharashtra (21.4%), Karnataka (13.2%), Uttar Pradesh (7.3%), Madhya Pradesh (6.6%) and Gujarat (5.5%) have about 90% area of total coarse cereals in the country.

'मोटे अनाज'

मोटे अनाज (Coarse grains) उन अनाजों को कहते हैं जो गेहूं और चावल के अलावा होते हैं या जो मुख्य रूप से पशु चारे या शराब बनाने के लिए उपयोग किए जाते हैं।

ये अनाज गर्मी के मौसम में उगाए जाने वाले अनाज हैं जो दुनिया के विभिन्न हिस्सों में उनके भोजन, चारे और चारे के उपयोग के लिए मूल्यवान हैं।
