Cyclone

Surface winds spiral outwards upon the centre of the cyclone where warm air ascends upwards. However, the central portion of the eye has a small counter current where air descends.

Cyclones are formed around a low-pressure area; they have quick inward air circulation.
There are mainly 2 types of cyclones: Tropical cyclones and Extra tropical cyclones.

Tropical cyclones form in the region between the Tropics of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.
Extratropical cyclones mainly originate in the Polar Regions; however, they can also occur in temperate zones and high-latitude regions.

The southern hemisphere has clockwise air circulation, whereas the Northern hemisphere experiences anticlockwise air circulation.
Tropical cyclones can form and intensify under the following conditions:

Large sea surface with a temperature higher than 27° C.
Presence of the Coriolis force.
Small variations in the vertical wind speed.
A pre-existing weak low-pressure area or low-level-cyclonic circulation.
Upper divergence above the sea level system.
