Panama

● It is a transcontinental country in Central and South America.

● Location: It is bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

● Capital and largest city: Panama City.

● Panama Canal: With the backing of the United States, Panama seceded from Colombia in 1903. This allowed the construction of the Panama Canal to be completed by the US Army Corps of Engineers between 1904 and 1914.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a rugged, rainforested Central American country with coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific.

Bordered by Nicaragua to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the northeast, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest and maritime border with Ecuador to the south of Cocos Island.

Though its capital, San Jose, is home to cultural institutions like the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, Costa Rica is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity.

Roughly a quarter of its area is made up of protected jungle, teeming with wildlife including spider monkeys and quetzal birds.

Colombia

Colombia is a country in South America with insular regions in North America—near Nicaragua's Caribbean coast—as well as in the Pacific Ocean.

The Colombian mainland is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the north, Venezuela to the east and northeast, Brazil to the southeast, Ecuador and Peru to the south and southwest, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and Panama to the northwest.

Colombia is one of the world's seventeen megadiverse countries; it has the second-highest level of biodiversity in the world.

Its territory encompasses Amazon rainforest, highlands, grasslands and deserts.

Venezuela

Venezuela is a country on the northern coast of South America, consisting of a continental landmass and many islands and islets in the Caribbean Sea.

The continental territory is bordered on the north by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Colombia, Brazil on the south, Trinidad and Tobago to the north-east and on the east by Guyana.

The Venezuelan government maintains a claim against Guyana to Guayana Esequiba.

It has the world's largest known oil reserves and has been one of the world's leading exporters of oil.
